Herding Trial - Vasad Cup in Hungary.

The Vasad Cup is now held for four years in a row inVasad, a village 25km from Budapest, Hungary.  This year the trial was preceeded by a herding camp.  Deborah Jones from Wales demonstrated herding with her professional Border Collie. During the herding camp participants were taught herding techniques (English and traditional style).  About 15- 20 people and their Working dogs (Hungarian breeds, Border Collies and Working Kelpies) participated learning traditional handicraft every day. At the end of the camp the trial was on the 7th and 8th of August 2004.  August 7th was English style with 18 participants and on August 8th 17 people competet in the traditional style trial.

"English Style" (~ 5 sheep, different driving, according to the class, similar to ISDS)

"Traditional Style" (big flock, dog and handler are allowed to work around the flock while driving freely)

It was a great experience to work daily, meet so many interested people and their dogs and competition was very very good.
