Last weekend we where at the 'Green Star' Utility trial in Leeuwarden organized by Ype van de Woude.It was a small trial but with a really nice course to run for the dogs.We had to start with a 250 meter cast.If the the dogs where send out wide enough they where out of sight of the handler and only to be seen again during the lift.After the cast you had to make a straight drive to the a yard.In the yard where a drench and a draft race.In the draft race you had to shed three sheep back into the yard.From the yard there was a drive to a drive gate with a small gap.After this again a race but now in the open field.The last obstacle was to pen the sheep into a trailer.

For me it was nice to see Paula Wijtmans back on the trial field.With her Rusty, a litter mate from my little Pingo, she showed good progress so lets hope we see her more in future.Sietse was nice and steady like we are already used to and Ype was lovely too with Paradise Kiley.Ype was not in competition cause he was the judge.Pia and Milburn Jane are always nice to watch cause they like so much working together, a real team!Cathrinus Homan had a run with Irinka Jack a dog who can remind me to my Dipper in his 'early' days.Cathrinus is the runner up in our Kelpie world.He is a quick learner but can we expect something else from a guy who is a shepherd already for so many years?Offcourse we had Sam with our 'senior' champ Paradise Boyke. His little pup Kessel Sem watched on the side off the field so he knows what to do next year....I think Pia was 6th, Paula fifth and Sietse 4th and 3th.

For myself it was a nice and relaxed day.With Sam and the dogs we set up the sheep for the trial.With Zipper/Jake [our rescue dogs], Pingo and Dipper I had for myself nice runs.It is rewarding to see the experience of Dipper and his sons preforming well on this trial.Michael told me about Pingo;If you can't trial this dog I will do it for you.I think he made a valid point...
